Music Monday - A Man and a Woman

Music Monday is a meme I started on my book blog, Ramblings of a Daydreamer. I was finding that I didn't have time to post it every week and since I have a backlog of reviews to post, I thought I would move the meme over here and do it whenever I had time or whenever a song was particularly inspiring to my writing. If you’d like to join in, feel free to use the graphic (please save rather than copying and pasting - and please link back to this blog) and leave a comment with a link to your post in the comments and I'll come visit you in return.

If you know me at all, you'll know I love U2. I listen to them all the time, and while I was writing my second novel, The Game Changer, I played this song a lot. It always made me think of the relationship between Melody and Julian...it's basically a song about the 'mysterious distance between a man and a woman' and it seemed fitting for their friendship and the possibilities of something more that they both did their best to deny.

Melody Cartwright has never had a problem with change, but for the first time in her life the changes are beyond her control—she suddenly has a niece she never knew, but has to prove herself to; her best friend is making huge life changes of her own; and she has to deal with her ex and his crazy new girlfriend who has stalker tendencies. When Melody meets confident, sexy Julian, she’s not interested in a relationship. He tells her it’s possible for a man and a woman to just be friends, and despite his ultra-charming ways there’s something about him that makes Melody believe he could be right. During a time of change and turmoil, it doesn’t take long for Julian to become everything Melody never knew she needed in her life. But is it possible for them to remain ‘just friends’ or will Melody be a game changer for Julian the playboy?

**There's no actual video for this song, so this is just audio**

"You can run from love
And if it's really love it will find you
Catch you by the heel
But you can't be numb for love
The only pain is to feel nothing at all
How can I hurt when I'm holding you?"
